What is Procell?

Procell is a treatment that introduces microchannels into the skin which allows the serum with growth factor technology access to the dermis. It’s a non-invasive, clinically-proven treatment designed to stimulate your body’s natural ability to form new collagen, elastin, and the building blocks to healthier skin. Unlike microneedling, Procell microchanneling helps your skin start this process without deep penetration.

What does Procell treat?

Procell treats fine lines and wrinkles, acne and surgical scars, stretch marks, large pores, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone and texture, rosacea, and lost elasticity.

Is it painful?

With microchanneling, your discomfort is minimal. It can be performed without the use of numbing cream, but we choose to use it in order to prevent any potential discomfort. After treatment, the only sensation that lingers is a feeling of tightness in the area.

Are there side effects?

There have been some rare but temporary side effects, including infection, acne flareups in those prone to breakouts, and post-treatment itchiness, redness, or flaking. The procedure utilizes single-use tools and products, and every effort is taken to maintain a sanitary environment to limit the potential for any negative side effects.

Is Procell safe?

Procell microchanneling is safe for all skin tones and types. It is FDA and Health Canada approved for safety and effectiveness. However, there are some contraindications. Please read on to learn who should not receive this treatment.

When will I see results?

You will notice your skin feels firmer and healthier in the first 24 hours after treatment. For the next few weeks, you will see a gradual improvement as your skin continues to produce new collagen cells. However, you’ll see the most noticeable results after your second or third treatment, when your cellular matrix has had time to build up an increased amount of collagen.

How long will it take to recover?

Your individual concerns and goals for your skin will dictate the required depth of the microchannels. If only a shallow depth is required, then it’s typical for the mild redness to settle down within the first hour and resolve completely within 4 to 24 hours. If a deeper treatment is required, this will increase the healing time.

Who is not a good candidate for Procell?

You should not get the treatment if you have eczema, psoriasis, cardiac abnormalities, an infection (bacterial, fungal or viral), untreated diabetes, any bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, if you are prone to keloid scarring, are allergic to stainless steel, or if you are pregnant or nursing. It should also be avoided if you have had skin cancer in the treatment area, have received radiation therapy, if there are open wounds on the treatment area, or your immune system is significantly impaired.

How man treatments will I need?

A series of 4 to 6 treatments is recommended for general corrective and anti-aging benefits. For light anti-aging results, 1 or 2 treatments may be sufficient. For deeper wrinkles or acne scars, you may need 4 to 6 treatments. An interval of 3 to 4 weeks between treatments is typically recommended. To maintain the results, quarterly or semi-annual treatments are required. Unfortunately, we cannot stop the clock, but we can slow it down.

How does Procell make my skin look better?

It’s fairly simple. The Procell device creates invisible perforations in the skin that stimulate your cells to increase the production of new collagen, elastin, and tissue. The key is the growth factor serum that enhances this new skin growth process, resulting in improved skin firmness, elasticity, and tone.

Is there a difference between microneedling and Procell?

Firstly, microneedling uses thicker needles, which causes more pain during the treatment. Procell uses microfilaments, which are not only smaller in diameter but there are more of them, so you get a less painful treatment and a faster recovery while getting the same results. Secondly, microneedling uses a gliding technique that can produce more epidermal damage, but Procell uses a stamping technique with better depth regulation that produces less skin trauma, allowing for faster healing. And thirdly, microneedling uses only hyaluronic acid for its treatment while Procell uses growth factors, which has been scientifically proven to speed up wound healing and improve skin rejuvenation. As we age, so do our growth factors. By using Procell’s serum, you’re getting healthier, more active growth factors, so you’ll build better quality collagen and see quicker results than with traditional microneedling.

What are Procell growth factors?

Procell microchanneling serum contains bone marrow derived growth factors from healthy 20-year-olds, which is why they are so much more effective; age has not slowed their growth factors down yet. THERE ARE NO animal cells, human cells, or plant cells, RNA, DNA or blood found in the serum. Procell’s growth factor serum goes through ongoing governmental testing for safety and effectiveness.

Do I have to use the Procell aftercare serums?

Microchanneling stimulates your body’s natural ability to produce collagen. However, as you get older, the growth factors that control this production age, so microchanneling alone becomes less and less effective. Therefore, the post-care renewal serum and healing accelerator serum are key to unlocking the full potential of the treatment. The use of the after-care products ensures the skin is continuously receiving potent, robust, and pristine growth factors, even between treatments. Microchanneling without the serums is like exercising without changing your diet. Results can be good with microchanneling alone, but they are significantly amplified with the proper aftercare.
